Should I move my car after an accident in Alabama?
As a general rule NO! You need to leave the vehicles as they are until the police arrive to document the scene. If the law requires, TAKE PICTURES OF THE VEHICLES AS THEY ARE at the accident scene from multiple angles, an the move your vehicle only if it is safe and legal to do so, and only after considering the need to protect the scene and avoid further danger.
After a crash, you should avoid creating a secondary collision. If the vehicles can be safely moved from active traffic, and law enforcement or dispatch instructs you to move them, do so carefully. If someone is seriously injured, a vehicle cannot be moved, or moving the vehicle may create danger, wait for emergency responders. Before moving the vehicle, take photos if you can do so safely. Photos of the resting positions of the vehicles, lane placement, and debris field can help prove fault. Never stand in traffic to take pictures.
